If you want to send something to someone as a gift then you can use their address as the delivery address for your order. We offer a gift-wrapping service so the goods will arrive gift wrapped with a note. Please email info@theaorah.com after you place an order.

Slow fashion is quality-based rather than time-based, the movement encourages slower production, unifies sustainability with ethics, and allows the consumers to invest in well-made and long lasting clothes. Aorah is a slow fashion brand with small-batch collections, slower production schedules. we aim to reduce the textile waste clogging our landfills.
WHAT IS ETHICAL FASHION?
There is no single definition but ethical fashion is concerned with social impact and the ethics behind a brand’s label. Aorah is an ethical brand that celebrates talent and diversity by empowering women and the youth of Nigeria. The brand’s empowerment program trains women in creative skills and 10% of profits is donated to the Aorah Women’s Funds.
WHAT IS THE AKWETE FABRIC?
Akwete fabric is a hand-woven textile originally known as ‘Akwa Miri’, which translates to ‘cloth of the water’. The traditional Igbo textile is made using materials such as using palm, cotton, silk, and hemp. Akwete is a small town in Abia State, Nigeria. This town is renowned for and actually named after their traditional weaving methods. Aorah works closely with weaving communities in Abia State to create our signature fabric.
